Job summary

Crawford & Company in the United States is seeking a Senior Claims Examiner – Liability to manage complex liability claims with independence and professional judgment. Licensing is required, and you will review coverages, determine liability, and settle claims within authority while guiding more junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4–8 years of claims or similar experience.
• Ability to work independently with technical subjects.
• Strong written and oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem solving with prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex coverages and determine applicability of coverages to claims.
• Manage investigative activity on complex claims and direct litigation strategy with counsel.
• Establish reserves using independent judgment and authorize payments within authority.
• Settle claims promptly within limits and issue disbursements.
• Develop subrogation and third-party recovery potential.
• Analyze claims activity and prepare reports for clients and management.
