Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is hiring a Senior Liability Adjuster to manage a caseload of 80-115 commercial general liability claims, including large-loss matters with exposures up to policy limits.

The role requires 10+ years of CGL liability experience, a bachelor's degree, and active adjuster licenses or the ability to obtain them. Travel for mediations and trials may be needed; opportunities for advancement and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience adjusting CGL and related liability claims.
• Bachelor's degree; active attorney license is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of coverage analysis and policy interpretation.
• Experience evaluating contracts, priority of coverage, and risk transfer opportunities.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally for mediations, hearings, trials, and conferences.
• Licensing: active adjuster license or ability to obtain and maintain state licenses.

Responsibilities

• Own a caseload of complex high-exposure CGL claims.
• Manage litigated, large-loss, catastrophic matters.
• Analyze coverage, liability, contracts, and risk transfer.
• Develop resolution strategies and negotiate settlements.
• Direct defense counsel and collaborate on litigation strategy.
• Evaluate evidence and claim documentation.
• Establish appropriate reserves and process settlements.
