Job summary

E-Space in Arlington, TX is seeking a Senior Antenna Design Engineer to own end-to-end design, simulation, and validation of advanced antenna systems for our LEO satellite constellation and ground infrastructure. You will use HFSS and other EM tools on-site in Texas or California.

You will translate requirements into antenna specs, perform trade studies, integrate with enclosures and electronics, and mentor other engineers while taking designs from concept to prototype and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electromagnetics, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on antenna design and development experience.
• Experience designing compact or electrically small antennas for size-constrained products.
• Strong understanding of antenna theory, impedance matching, radiation patterns, polarization, efficiency, bandwidth, and near-field coupling.
• Hands-on experience with full-wave EM simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, or FEKO.
• Experience transitioning designs from simulation to prototype and measured validation.
• Experience operating VNAs and performing antenna-pattern, gain, efficiency, polarization, and return-loss measurements.
• Ability to diagnose differences between predicted and measured antenna performance.
• Experience integrating antennas into mechanically and electrically complex products.

Responsibilities

• - Own antenna designs from requirements and concept development through simulation, prototyping, validation, and production release.
• - Develop compact, low-profile, embedded, multiband, dual-band, or wideband antennas for satellite terminals.
• - Translate link-budget and system requirements into antenna specifications (coverage, gain, efficiency, polarization, axial ratio, radiation pattern, return loss, bandwidth).
• - Perform antenna trade studies on size, bandwidth, efficiency, gain, and enclosure effects.
• - Design radiators, feeds, matching networks, baluns, hybrids, and other passive RF structures.
• - Develop circularly or linearly polarized antenna solutions per system needs.
• - Conduct full-wave simulations using HFSS, CST, FEKO or equivalent.
• - Integrate antennas with enclosure, PCB, ground structure, cables, and nearby electronics.
• - Plan and perform antenna measurements using VNAs and anechoic chambers.
• - Correlate simulation with measurements and troubleshoot discrepancies.
• - Support tuning, DFM reviews, supplier interactions, and production validation.
• - Develop environmental verification plans for temperature, humidity, vibration, and outdoor exposure.
• - Document requirements, analyses, decisions, test procedures, results, and risks.
• - Collaborate with RF front-end, modem, baseband, firmware, mechanical, thermal, test, manufacturing, regulatory, and systems teams.
• - Mentor engineers and establish repeatable antenna design and verification practices.
