Job summary

Mizuho Capital Markets LLC is seeking a Legal Entity Controller in New York to manage monthly/quarterly close for US GAAP and JGAAP, prepare reconciliations, and ensure financial reporting accuracy. You will produce monthly statements, Head Office and BHC reports, perform variance analysis, intercompany reconciliations, and support audits and system enhancements.

Responsibilities

Legal entity controller of Mizuho Capital Markets LLC (MCM).
Perform monthly/quarterly close functions for US GAAP and JGAAP.
Prepare reconciliations and reporting to ensure accuracy of the financials.
Prepare monthly financial statements, Head Office reporting, BHC reporting and other reports, as needed.
Perform variance analysis and prepare commentary for significant movements in Balance Sheet and P&L.
Perform balance sheet analysis and substantiation on a monthly basis.
Perform monthly intercompany analysis and reporting; prepare reconciliations between entities as needed.
Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports, forms and schedules to provide management with financial information.
Provide support for system enhancement or business projects.
Assist senior staff in tax, financial and regulatory reporting, and financial analysis.
Confirm accuracy of reports, forms and materials before submitting to reviewers.
Maintain knowledge of accounting standards and operational workflows.
Work with internal and external audit and liaise with affiliates’ accounting staff.
