Bank of America is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to provide legal guidance on fixed income derivatives, futures, cleared OTC and repo activities within Global Markets. The role involves negotiating ISDA and related agreements, advising on regulatory requirements, and coordinating with multinational teams to manage legal risk and support strategic initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have strong experience with US CFTC/SEC rules, and a doctorate-level education in a related field.

Qualifications

• Required: Familiarity with fixed income derivatives.
• Required: Familiarity with futures clearing, treasury clearing and FCM regulations and documentation.
• Required: Experience with US CFTC and SEC rules.
• Desired: 4+ years at major law firm, bank, or similar institutional experience.
• Desired: Familiarity with institutional broker-dealer and banking businesses.
• Desired: Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex assignments.

Responsabilités

• Drafts, reviews, negotiates, and advises on ISDA Master Agreements and related docs for Rates and FX businesses.
• Provides legal advice on licensing, documentation, and transaction structuring for U.S. and Latin America markets.
• Advises on regulatory requirements for swap dealers, futures, and clearing activities under CFTC/SEC/FINRA rules.
• Supports development and implementation of U.S. Treasury and other fixed income clearing initiatives.
• Coordinates with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Credit, and business partners globally on derivatives and clearing activities.
• Communicates legal risk and guidance to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Drafts, reviews, and negotiates complex legal documents and opinions related to derivatives and capital markets.
• Directs outside counsel work and mentors junior staff.
