Job summary

The United States Space Force seeks a senior attorney to support the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) by providing legal advice for the most complex, precedential installation-level cases across administrative, environmental, contract, labor, international, and operations law for Space Base Delta 1 and tenant units. Required is an ABA-accredited law degree (JD or LL.B.), active bar status in a U.S.

jurisdiction, and specialized experience at NH-II level or above.

Qualifications

ABA-accredited law school and first professional degree (JD or LL.B).
Active bar status with a state, territory, DC, or the alias highest court, dated within four months of application.
Specialized experience at NH-II level or higher, or equivalent education/LL.M. options.
Possess credentials showing ability to perform at NH-II level with independence.
Additional qualifying experience beyond two years that aligns with the duties.

Responsibilities

Provide legal advice and counsel to Space Base Delta 1 and tenant units.
Prepare and try cases before courts or quasi-judicial bodies.
Research and analyze complex legal issues across multiple domains (administrative, environmental, contract, labor, international, and operations law).
Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
