Job summary

The Regents of the University of California on behalf of their Los Angeles Campus is seeking an experienced CA-licensed Trusts & Estates lawyer to create and update engaging content for practitioners in areas including trusts & estates litigation, Medi‑Cal, special needs trusts, guardianships, and elder law. The role involves legal research, writing, editing, and collaboration with attorneys and judges.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related law practice experience required; 5+ years preferred
• 2+ years of legal editing experience in substantive law area
• Awareness of current legal practice and challenges faced by practitioners
• Experience with large firms or government entities preferred
• Trusts and Estates litigation experience preferred
• Guardianship and Elder Law experience preferred
• Special Needs/Medi-Cal experience preferred
• Extensive knowledge of relevant substantive law area required
• Excellent writing and editing skills; strong English
• Strong project management and leadership abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to work independently and be highly organized
• Proactive and creative mindset
• Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel; familiarity with Westlaw, Lexis, and citation checking

Responsibilities

• Create and update engaging legal content for Trusts and Estates practitioners
• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis
• Write DailyNews articles on current legal developments
• Collaborate with attorneys and judges to review content
• Recruit and coordinate with internal contributors
