Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Smithfield, VA is seeking a Governance Senior Engineering Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of engineering standards and lean tools across the manufacturing network.

You will conduct data-driven assessments, coach teams, and partner across Operations, Continuous Improvement, Engineering and QA to drive efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
• Demonstrated technical writing skills including creation of training material or reference material.
• Demonstrated ability to train in person and via Teams effectively.
• Demonstrated planning, organization, and execution skills and ability to work independently with multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Program Strategy and Development: analyze the M-IQ program and develop forward-looking content that aligns with evolving priorities; lead special projects, including new technology implementations.
• Training and Knowledge Transfer: develop and facilitate standardized trainings across M-IQ locations and coach managers in strategic initiatives.
• Continuous Improvement and Change Leadership: embed continuous improvement methodologies across the platform and lead cross-functional teams.
• Operational Execution and Process Governance: facilitate standard changes, conduct compliance audits, and provide weekly impact reports.
• Data and Performance Analysis: conduct data collection, root cause analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and cost analysis to drive improvements.
• Organizational Systems and Integrity: ensure consistency in approach, data integrity, and enterprise standard alignment across the organization.
