Job summary

Smithfield Foods is hiring an Associate Process Improvement Engineer to drive high-impact initiatives across manufacturing and operations. You will apply engineering principles, data analytics, and lean methods to streamline processes, improve product quality, and reduce costs across facilities.

In collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership, you will implement continuous improvement strategies, develop SOPs, mentor others, and contribute to sustainability goals around energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Enrolled student with anticipated graduation may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and enhance plant efficiencies through data-driven improvements.
• Lead lean initiatives using A3, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee new equipment/technologies ensuring budget and specs.
• Develop SOPs and visual management; promote best practices.
• Provide training workshops and coach teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and leadership.
• Support sustainability goals in energy, water, and waste reduction.
