Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States seeks a Senior Lead User Research Operations to define and own the long-term Research Ops strategy, operating model, and capability roadmap across the organization. You will align research priorities with business goals and lead enterprise-level transformation initiatives.

You will influence executive stakeholders, establish governance for repositories and metrics, and guide AI-enabled workflows, tooling, and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree + 8 years in a related field or equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Advanced degree in HCI, organizational design, information science, or business management preferred.
  • 10+ years in research operations, program leadership, or operations roles, incl. 3+ years in a senior IC lead role.
  • 10+ years in UX/Product Design, product, design, marketing, analytics, or customer research environments.
  • Recognized enterprise-level authority in Research Ops across multiple domains (repositories, tooling, AI-enabled workflows, metrics).
  • Proven track record leading large-scale cross-functional programs delivering measurable organizational change.
  • Executive-level communication and influence with senior/C-suite partners to drive strategic alignment.
  • Experience building and scaling Research Ops, including tooling strategy and AI-enabled automation.
  • Ability to translate operational vision into executable strategy and inspire teams.
  • Experience using general-purpose LLM tools to analyze user behavior and prioritize opportunities.
  • Use of AI to accelerate discovery and recommended improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the long-term Research Ops strategy, operating model, and capability roadmap across the organization.
  • Serve as the principal authority on Research Ops discipline, standards, tools, and emerging practices.
  • Lead enterprise-level Research Ops transformation initiatives spanning portfolios, departments, or business units.
  • Establish and govern enterprise standards for research repositories, insight management, and data governance.
  • Drive alignment across research, design, product, and leadership to connect investments to outcomes.
  • Partner with C-suite and SVP-level stakeholders to define strategic value and investment priorities.
  • Lead design and institutionalization of AI-enabled and automated research systems at scale.
  • Own the Research Ops measurement framework and communicate enterprise KPIs and ROI.
  • Oversee vendor partnerships, multi-year tooling investments, and budget planning at portfolio level.
  • Represent Cox Automotive's Research Ops externally through speaking, publishing, and community engagement.
  • Model and cultivate a culture of craft, rigor, and continuous improvement.
