Job summary

Raymond James is seeking a senior software engineer to lead and contribute to cross‑team development efforts. The role emphasizes Java and Angular work, microservices, and DevOps collaboration, with strong focus on performance tuning and reliable deployments.

You will use IntelliJ IDEA or Visual Studio, work with SQL Server and Oracle, and monitor systems with Splunk, Dynatrace, and Data Dog. Hybrid work arrangement and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, business, or related field.
• 5+ years in development or related experience with specified technologies.
• Experience with distributed architectures, microservices, and OO design.
• Proficient in SQL Server and Oracle stored procedures for performance.
• SCRUM/Agile and Azure DevOps project management experience.
• Strong code quality, performance optimization, and JVM tuning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in projects using Azure DevOps tools.
• Write and refine work item instructions for technical direction.
• Balance workload by assigning tasks and adjusting priorities.
• Review code quality and pull requests to prevent rework.
• Develop Java/Angular apps using IDEs as capacity allows.
• Build and optimize SQL structures and views in SQL Server and Oracle.
• Monitor availability and performance with Splunk, Dynatrace, DataDog.
• Coordinate releases and post‑deployment validation with IT partners.
