Raymond James in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a Lead Engineer, Apps Dev to participate in testing, programming and documentation, and to lead project tasks with a strong emphasis on modern design principles. The role requires Java, Spring, RESTful services, and containerized deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with Java and Spring.
• Experience with RESTful services and Oracle databases.
• Experience with Git and TFS code repositories.
• Unit testing with JUnit and Mockito.
• 2+ years of SQL and database tooling (JPA/Hibernate).
• Knowledge of JavaScript (AJAX/ExtJS) and messaging (MQ/Kafka).
• Experience with container tools (Docker/OpenShift).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).

Responsibilities

• Participates in software testing, validation, programming and documentation.
• Leads assigned projects, including task assignment and coordination.
• Develops solutions using best practices and modern design principles with quality, tested code.
• Advises management on new technologies and methodologies.
• Remains current with new technologies and provides technical guidance.
