Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to design and deliver cloud-native platforms for product intake, communication, and collaboration within an agile engineering organization.

You will shape architecture, set technical direction, and mentor engineers across teams to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable solutions. Responsibilities include leading platform-level architecture, driving cross-team initiatives, and building GraphQL APIs, React UIs, and Hugo pipelines with

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
Experience in distributed system design and leading cross-team initiatives.
Experience mentoring engineers and driving architectural decisions.
Proficient in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python with API design (GraphQL/REST).
Cloud experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

Own platform-level architecture and strategy across one or more platforms, ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
Lead complex initiatives from discovery through delivery and operations with reusable patterns.
Design and implement cloud-native software with key integrations (Jira Align, Bitbucket/GitHub, event-driven workflows).
Architect and build backend services, GraphQL APIs, and modern React UIs (Module Federation, Hugo pipelines).
Mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and translate business goals into measurable technical outcomes.
