The role emphasizes leadership in design, code quality, and governance, with a focus on reliability, performance, and secure coding in a large financial infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Deep expertise in designing, developing, and modernizing large-scale enterprise applications with a strong focus on scalability, resiliency, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Strong hands-on development experience across Java and Python with the ability to rapidly learn new technologies.
• Proven expertise in modern software architecture including microservices, distributed systems, API-first design, event-driven architecture, cloud-native development, domain-driven design, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with AI-driven software engineering, including AI-assisted development tools, GenAI applications, AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) based integrations.
• Ability to establish and drive engineering best practices including secure SDLC, architecture governance, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and code quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance to support the business and its teams.
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews code written by others.
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools to improve value realized by automation at scale.
• Drives decisions that influence product design, functionality, and technical operations.
• Acts as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
• Contributes to engineering community by promoting firmwide frameworks and tools.
