Job description

Job Description Summary

The Senior Lead Hardware Integrator (Senior LHI) partners closely with the Program Manager and Core Team to drive successful execution of complex MR hardware programs across the entire product lifecycle. This role serves as a recognized technical and integration leader, ensuring seamless coordination across engineering functions while balancing New Product Introduction (NPI), Installed Base support, obsolescence management, and End-of-Life initiatives.

The Senior LHI optimizes team performance across programs and the hardware organization by proactively identifying and managing cross-functional dependencies, anticipating integration risks, and driving timely resolution of complex technical and program challenges. This individual represents the Hardware function within global program teams and collaborates across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, regulatory, service, and commercial organizations to deliver business and customer outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Model technical leadership in hardware integration by mentoring LHIs, Core Team members, and cross-functional stakeholders on best practices, processes, and execution excellence.
  • Lead hardware integration activities for critical NPI programs and highly complex product initiatives, ensuring alignment across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, regulatory, service, and commercial teams.
  • Serve as the primary hardware representative within program teams, driving collaboration, decision-making, and execution across geographically dispersed teams, including significant engagement with global engineering partners.
  • Proactively manage cross-functional interdependencies to maximize team efficiency, mitigate execution risks, and prevent program delays across both short-term and long-term planning horizons.
  • Anticipate integration issues before they become program risks and leverage technical expertise, systems thinking, and data-driven analysis to develop actionable solutions and recommendations.
  • Guide teams through product development processes including design, development, verification, validation, release readiness, and change management activities, including PIPO, MR, ECR, ECO, and related governance processes.
  • Connect strategic planning and execution across NPI, Installed Base, Service, Manufacturing, Obsolescence, and End-of-Life efforts to ensure business objectives and customer needs are met.
  • Drive hardware integration throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and development through launch, sustainment, and retirement.
  • Serve as a best-practice and quality resource for hardware integration, continuously improving processes, tools, and methodologies that increase program predictability and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to integration strategy, policy development, organizational capability growth, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build alignment and consensus among stakeholders while effectively communicating complex technical and program information to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience with demonstrated MR hardware knowledge and experience supporting products through the full product lifecycle.
  • Experience designing, developing, integrating, or leading complex hardware systems within a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or influencing cross-functional teams through product development and commercialization activities.
  • Experience working within structured program lifecycle processes and governance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Prior experience in the medical device industry.
  • Prior experience with MR hardware systems and technologies.
  • Demonstrated breadth of knowledge across MR hardware systems, subsystem interfaces, systems integration, and product development processes.
  • Deep understanding of hardware integration methodologies, technical interfaces, engineering lifecycles, and emerging technology trends.
  • Strong strategic thinking capability with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer, business, and product outcomes.
  • Proven ability to make sound judgments and solve complex technical and operational challenges through analytical and data-driven decision-making.
  • Recognized as a technical mentor and trusted advisor who develops others, influences without authority, and fosters a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and consensus-building skills across global and cross-functional organizations.
  • Experience leading moderate to large-scale integration efforts with significant technical complexity, business impact, and organizational visibility.
  • Established project management skills and experience working within Agile environments.
