Job summary

Coupa Software is seeking a Sr Lead Network Development Engineer to shape and scale our massive public cloud networking. You will own design, automation, and daily operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP, championing an automation-first mindset, and guiding a growing team of network developers.

You’ll bring 10+ years in enterprise SaaS networking, strong expertise in firewalls, VPNs, DNS, BGP, and cloud networking, plus Terraform/CloudFormation and Kubernetes experience.

Qualifications

• Has a degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years professional experience.
• Expert in Firewall, VPN, DNS, BGP, and Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) network constructs (eg VPC, Hybrid routing, security groups, etc)
• Experience managing and maintaining a production-facing Kubernetes environment
• Is an expert in Kubernetes networking and CNIs; knowledge of Ingress/Gateway controllers, service discovery and DNS within a cluster
• Experience with Linux distributions and scripting languages
• Proficient in coding with Golang, Python, Java, or Ruby
• Familiar with deploying cloud network infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation or Chef/Ansible/Spacelift
• Uses AI tools to drive innovation and streamline workflows
• Advanced network troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Strong ownership mindset and accountability

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, automate and support network solutions in a massive-scale public cloud environment (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Experience with VM or container-based firewall solutions and cloud-native firewalls
• Have knowledge of networks including TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, TLS
• Provide network support for Kubernetes platforms and workloads in major cloud providers
• Develop roadmaps using established public cloud design standards
• Participate in design reviews and provide network leadership to Engineering
• Apply infrastructure-as-code mindset to network tooling and reduce toil
• Evaluate and monitor network performance, capacity and availability
