Job summary
FIS is hiring a Senior Lead Network Engineer to shape telecom strategy, including global backbone and topology, and to coach engineers through complex provisioning and deployment. You will work with Data/Voice Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Finance to scope and execute large-scale transport initiatives.
The role covers optical and IP-based architectures, dark fiber, colocation interconnection, and wireless/satellite connectivity while decommissioning legacy tech for scalable,
Qualifications
- 10+ years leading or supporting a network provisioning or circuit engineering team.
- 10+ years of network engineering experience with telecom carriers and escalations.
- 10+ years in network operations/engineering and related roles.
- Experience with carrier Ethernet, optical wavelength services, and backbone connectivity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Word).
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Network Circuit Engineering team across design, ordering, provisioning, and inventory.
- Provide technical leadership for large-scale transport initiatives with complex Layer 1-3 needs.
- Design and support high-capacity optical and 100G backbones for US/global networks.
- Backbone SD-WAN/hybrid WAN design including MPLS, Ethernet, and secure cloud connectivity.
- Oversee cloud interconnection, colocation, and carrier-neutral facilities deployments.
- Drive vendor strategy, RFPs, and cost optimization with Supply Chain.
- Decommission legacy tech and migrate to modern transport architectures.
