CGS is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Network Engineer to join a team focused on evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining a large-scale network project involving wired and wireless infrastructure, hardware, and software. The role includes assessing existing networks, designing and implementing new infrastructure, and consulting on hardware and software support, testing, vulnerability assessments, and quality assurance. The engineer will collaborate with government personnel, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors.

Skills and Attributes for Success
  • Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure
  • Enhance infrastructure monitoring and reporting with network management software
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, including network diagrams and tickets
  • Review best practices and recommend improvements for network architecture and management
  • Administer Cloudpath onboarding, monitor wireless health, apply security patches, and perform updates (0800-1700 PST, Mon-Fri)
  • Assess and optimize NPS network infrastructure
  • Define and conduct testing for new projects
  • Implement and provide design guidance on network solutions
  • Train NPS staff on best practices and operations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • Strong documentation skills (JIRA, Wiki, diagrams)
  • Effective communication with end users and technical teams
  • CWNA and BCNE certifications or equivalents
  • Experience with RF site surveys, Wireshark, VLANs, OSPF, VRRP, and network security protocols
  • Knowledge of RF troubleshooting, Linux, MS Server, VMware
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years experience in disaster recovery, vulnerability testing, and cyber threat analysis
  • Familiarity with Agile/SCUM methodologies and industry certifications
