Job summary

Big Horn Heating and Cooling is seeking a Lead Installer to oversee and perform residential and commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system installations. You will lead installation teams, ensure quality workmanship, and mentor apprentices while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.

The role requires 5+ years of installation experience, strong leadership, and ability to read blueprints with a commitment to safety and code compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 5+ years of installation experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems
• Lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Technical or trade school training strongly preferred
• EPA Section 608 Certification preferred (if HVAC)
• Additional certifications (e.g., NATE, manufacturer-specific, hydronics) preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform installation of HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems according to company standards, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications
• Supervise and train installation team members, including apprentices and junior installers
• Schedule and prioritize installation tasks to meet project deadlines
• Ensure all installations comply with safety, building, and code requirements
• Inspect work to maintain quality and identify potential issues before project completion
• Collaborate with project managers, service technicians, and customers to ensure project success
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations, materials used, and service reports
• Operate, maintain, and inspect company tools, vehicles, and equipment
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges on-site
• Communicate professionally with customers, providing explanations and guidance on system operation
• Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and manufacturer installation guidelines
• Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform other related duties as assigned
