Discovery Land Company is seeking a Senior Lead Gondola Operator to oversee the day-to-day gondola operations at our Tahoe property. You will move between terminals each morning, ensure breaks are taken on time, and verify operations run smoothly to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
You will lead by example, coach and develop a team of Lead Operators and Operators, maintain safety standards, and respond quickly to changing conditions to keep guests moving safely and efficiently.
TheSenior Lead Gondola Operatoris responsible foroverseeing the day-to-day operation of the Gondola. TheSenior Lead Operatorwill consistently move between both Gondola terminals to ensure proper setup each morning, ensure breaks and lunch breaks are conducted on time as well as verifying that operations are running smoothly and consistently, toensurethe best guest experience possible.Senior Lead Operators are expected to lead by example on a daily basis.
Assist theGondolaOperationsSupervisorwith coordinating and conducting preseason training
Ensure all operations are A.N.S.I. B77 compliant, at all times.
Align staff around clear departmental goals set by the Lift & Gondola Operations Manager andSupervisor,while providing ongoing coaching to ensuretimely, high-quality results
EnsureGondolaloading and unloading areas are free of debris, smooth, and ready for guest/employee loading and unloading.
Oversee the daily setup of mazes and signage to accommodate expected guest demand and traffic flow.
Provide leadership and operational support toLeadOperators andOperators, ensuring the efficient execution of daily operations.
Maintain a focused, safety-oriented approach while efficiently loading and unloading passengers in Gondola cabins.
Actively engage with all guests to load their equipment in the racks for them.
Repetitive motions while loading skis,snowboardsand bicycles.
Provide additional assistance to children, guests with mobility needs, and others who request or require support.
Snow removalasrequired.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimumof2 years of Lift Operationsexperience.
Minimum of 1year ofLead Lift Operator experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and develop employees in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Strong observational andsituational awarenessskills with the ability to remain highly attentive to passenger loading and unloading activities and respond quickly to changing operational conditions.
Ability to communicate with guests confidently and assertively to ensure their safety.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Lead Operators and management to ensure efficient daily lift operations.
18 years of age or older.
Intermediateskiingor snowboarding ability isrequired.
Flexibility and ability topivot tonew projects and desire to work infast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during thebusiest oftimes.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English;additionallanguages preferred.
Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $28.85-$36 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
