Job summary

Anchoragechamber seeks a Lead Estimator to join its hands-on construction team in Anchorage, AK. You will bid, perform take-offs, price, and create compelling proposal summaries for commercial projects with ownership of costs and schedules.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in commercial general contracting, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills. Base $150k DOE; competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or Management or related field.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in commercial general contracting.
Strong ability to win profitable work and manage projects profitably.

Responsibilities

Select projects to bid, perform material take-offs, solicit pricing, and estimate costs.
Create a project schedule to align with RFP timelines.
Summarize pricing into a proposal summary.
Write qualification narratives for RFPs as needed.
Collect subcontractor and material numbers on bid day and enter lowest qualified numbers.
Collaborate to finalize general conditions and overhead/profit markups.
Oversee post-bid buy-out, purchase orders, subcontracts, scheduling, meetings, and cost control.
Manage owner communications, submittals, and project close-out duties.
