With 7+ years in financial services legal, you will navigate multi‑jurisdictional regulations, negotiate complex deals and guide senior management through risk‑aware, commercially practical decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant industry experience with some experience working in an in-house legal role in financial services
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational and relationship management skills
• Experience with regulators/regulatory bodies is preferred
• Proven ability to apply sound judgement while managing multiple assignments simultaneously in a demanding, fast-paced environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of international, multi-jurisdictional laws, regulations and practices
• Experience with complex deals, demonstrated ability to analyze issues and develop legal solutions
• Effective communication and negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain trusted relationships

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to the Business, supporting strategic initiatives and interpreting laws, rules, regulations, and industry practices
• Advise on business decisions by applying institutional knowledge against industry standards and regulatory guidelines
• Collaborate across internal lines of business and control functions to achieve coordinated outcomes
• Accomplish results by leveraging networks, colleagues, and peers
• Serve as business partner to stakeholders by contributing legal insights into planning and development initiatives
• Participate in risk reviews, governance and control forums, highlighting potential financial or reputational risk
• Identify and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risk through cross‑functional collaboration
• Manage day‑to‑day legal activities as a subject matter expert and provide senior advisory services
• Negotiate, coordinate and monitor complex legal issues and escalate when necessary
• Ensure risk considerations are integrated into business decisions and maintain Citi standards
