Currently ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record’s Top 500 Design Firms, JMT is seeking an experienced Senior (Lead) Construction Inspector for a major Pennsylvania Turnpike project located at the I-95 / SR 276 Interchange.

The successful candidate will collaborate with construction management and inspection teams to supervise standard inspection procedures, ensuring structural quality, safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes on behalf of our client, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods for compliance.
• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor adherence to plans and standards.
• Monitor schedules and maintain related documentation.
• Measure dimensions and verify levels, alignments, and elevations to ensure compliance.
• Draft project correspondence, facilitate meetings, and resolve field issues.
• Witness sampling and testing of materials such as concrete and soils.
• Maintain project records using standard PTC systems.
• Interact with public agencies, contractors, and internal teams to respond to inquiries.

Required Skills

• NICET Level III or IV in Transportation Highway Construction, or a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with relevant experience.
• Proficiency with PTC documentation systems.
• Ability to act as Owner's Agent/Responsible in Charge.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, with successful completion of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Certifications such as NECEPT Bituminous Field Technician or PennDOT Concrete Field Technician (ACI certification required).
• At least 5 years of relevant transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience with PTC or PennDOT.
• Degree in construction management or civil engineering (preferred), with supervisory experience (preferred).
