Job description

The Release Train Architect provides technical leadership and guidance to a value-oriented release train comprised of multiple delivery teams. As a part of the Release Train Leadership Team, the Release Train Architect works with engineering, product, and business leaders to create and promote the release train's current architectural direction and future vision.

The Release Train Architect provides technical leadership and guidance to a value-oriented release train comprised of multiple delivery teams. As a part of the Release Train Leadership Team, the Release Train Architect works with engineering, product, and business leaders to create and promote the release train's current architectural direction and future vision.

Key responsibilities
  • Ensuring technical alignment, architectural health, and vision across the release train's agile delivery teams.
  • Defining and socializing future state vision.
  • Understanding technical and business dependencies.
  • Understanding and communicating broader architectural context.
  • Promoting best practices to drive architectural health and high quality.
  • Creating Technical Proof of Concepts validating architectural/design patterns.
  • Defining, assessing, and communicating technical debt and risk.
  • Guiding architectural decisions.
  • Analyzing design and technology alternatives with respect to business benefits.
  • Applying emerging technology to business opportunities.
  • Promoting a culture of mentoring, collaboration, and sharing.

Effective communication on both technical and business fronts, along with the ability to validate technology assumptions and quantify value, effort, risk, and feasibility, are critical skills for this role. The architect should understand the technology landscape and collaborate to promote standards, patterns, and reusability to develop best-in-class solutions. Our architecture role aims to enable a sustainable, continuous, and accelerating flow of solutions to the market.

Skills and Experience:
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering, product, and business leaders; resolving design conflicts to ensure architectural alignment.
  • Ability to develop and evangelize the technical and product vision through creating architectural artifacts such as roadmaps, diagrams, and technical analysis presentations.
  • Experience in authoring guiding principles for design decisions.
  • Understanding of technical risks and debt, with transparency and mitigation strategies.
  • Continuous learning to stay current with relevant technologies.
  • Experience evaluating opportunities to leverage technology patterns, including Gen AI and AWS, for scalable and cost-effective solutions.
  • Sharing learnings and promoting collective knowledge within teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years, or Ph.D. with 3 years, including full development lifecycle and architecture services experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with AWS.
  • 2+ years of leadership/influencing experience.
  • Experience in software development with languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Python.
  • Experience implementing architecture in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in large-scale IT environments and automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code.
  • Understanding of web solutions, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies to business needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with no-code/low-code platforms like Salesforce.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and integration patterns, with NextWorld experience.
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend appropriate use cases for no-code/low-code solutions versus custom development.
  • Experience with B2B integrations.

Salary Range: USD 144,900.00 - 241,500.00 per year.
