Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Lead AI Engineer for the GenAI Platform Services: Agentic Systems in San Jose, CA. You will build scalable AI systems, partner with cross-functional teams, and advance model training, inference, and governance in production.

You will work with open source and SaaS tools like AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch, VectorDBs, and Nemo Guardrails, driving optimizations for latency, cost, and throughput while shaping the future of responsible AI at Capital One.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/AI/EE with 6+ years or 4+ years respectively.
• Experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java (6+ years).

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components (training, inference, guardrails, evaluation, observability).
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch).
• Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques for production systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
