Job summary

LEGO Group in Virginia seeks a Senior LCI Specialist to lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement across the site. You will establish Lean Management Systems, embed CI behaviors, and drive adoption of global standards to improve SQCDP performance.

You will coach leaders, run Kaizen events, build capability, and use PowerBI to visualize data and track progress across functions worldwide. This role requires travel and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing, operations management, business, supply chain, data analytics, or related field.
  • Extensive hands-on Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience in manufacturing settings.
  • Experience coaching leaders and leading Lean initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, Daily Management, problem solving).
  • Strong analytical and BI capabilities; experience building dashboards with PowerBI.
  • Proven ability to drive CI initiatives; startup/greenfield experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean, Operational Excellence, and CI methodologies (5S, TPM, VSM, etc.).
  • Ability to travel globally.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to develop CI strategies aligned with objectives.
  • Develop and maintain the site CI roadmap and prioritize initiatives.
  • Establish and sustain Lean Management Systems across LEGO Manufacturing Virginia.
  • Conduct maturity assessments, audits, and health checks for standards.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, RIEs, VSM workshops, A3 problem solving.
  • Design, coordinate and deliver Lean learning programs for leaders and staff.
  • Train front line employees and coach front line leaders in Lean principles.
  • Develop internal capability to independently lead CI projects and events.
  • Utilize analytics and BI tools to identify trends and prioritize opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards and automated reporting to improve transparency.
  • Promote standardized metrics and data integrity across functions.
  • Measure business impact of CI initiatives (productivity, cost, quality, delivery).
  • Support evolution of the LEGO Manufacturing Virginia CI Management System.

Job Description

Would you like to be the subject matter expert for Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement of the LEGO Continuous Improvement (LCI) system at the new manufacturing site in Virginia?

Partnering with manufacturing leadership and cross‑functional teams, the Senior LCI Specialist establishes and sustains Lean management systems, embeds continuous improvement behaviors, and drives the adoption of global LCI standards to improve Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP) performance. Leverages Lean methodologies, operational analytics, and business intelligence tools to identify improvement opportunities, support data‑driven decision making, and measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives. The role influences leaders and teams across multiple business functions without direct people management responsibility, partnering with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, Planning, and other stakeholders to build organizational capability, drive sustainable process improvements, and mature the site’s Lean Management System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to develop and deploy Continuous Improvement strategies aligned with business objectives and operational priorities.
  • Develop and maintain the site Continuous Improvement roadmap, prioritizing strategic initiatives that support operational maturity, business objectives, and long‑term manufacturing performance.
  • Establish, implement, and sustain Lean Management Systems that support operational excellence across LEGO Manufacturing Virginia.
  • Conduct periodic Lean Management System maturity assessments, audits, and health checks to ensure standards are sustained, continuously improved, and aligned with global LEGO Continuous Improvement expectations.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), Value Stream Mapping workshops, A3 problem solving, and other Lean improvement activities.
  • Build organizational capability by designing, coordinating, and facilitating Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement learning programs.
  • Conduct capability assessments to identify development opportunities for leaders and employees.
  • Train, coach, and mentor leaders, supervisors, and employees in Lean principles, Daily Management, problem solving, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Train front line employees.
  • Coach front line leaders.
  • Develop internal capability to independently lead Continuous Improvement projects, Kaizen events, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), and structured problem‑solving activities.
  • Leverage operational analytics, business intelligence tools, and digital technologies to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and provide actionable insights that support data‑driven decision making.
  • Develop and continuously improve dashboards, automated reporting, and performance visualization tools using Microsoft PowerBI and other digital solutions to enhance operational transparency and reporting efficiency.
  • Promote standardized metrics, reporting governance, and data integrity to ensure consistent performance measurement and alignment across functions while supporting the sustainability of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Measure, validate, and communicate the business impact of Continuous Improvement initiatives through operational performance improvements, productivity gains, cost savings, quality enhancements, delivery performance, and organizational capability development.
  • Support the evolution and governance of the LEGO Manufacturing Virginia Continuous Improvement Management System, ensuring alignment with global standards and business objectives.

Do you have what it takes
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing, operations management, business, supply chain, data analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Extensive hands‑on working experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related manufacturing environment, including implementation of Lean Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching leaders, facilitating organizational capability development, and leading Lean initiatives using methodologies such as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Daily Management, and structured problem solving.
  • Strong analytical and business intelligence capabilities, including experience utilizing operational analytics and developing dashboards and performance reporting using Microsoft PowerBI or similar tools to support data‑driven decision making.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational changes, influence cross‑functional stakeholders, and successfully drive Continuous Improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment; experience in a startup or greenfield operation is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and Continuous Improvement methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Systems, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), SMED, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Visual Management, A3 Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, Poka‑Yoke, and waste elimination.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production systems, and performance management, with the ability to develop KPIs, analyze operational data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable business improvements.
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence and data analytics tools, including Microsoft PowerBI or comparable platforms, with experience developing dashboards, automating reports, and enhancing operational visibility and decision‑making.
  • Working knowledge of Industry4.0 technologies, digital manufacturing solutions, AI‑enabled productivity tools (including Microsoft Copilot), and automation technologies to improve operational efficiency, enhance decision‑making, and support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Comfortable with Toyota Kata.
  • Must have the ability to travel globally.
Compensation

The salary for this position has a range of $93,989.00 – $140,983.00 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints.

The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
