We are looking for an experienced Senior Layout & Facilities Engineer to drive end-to-end site and factory layout management for our large-scale manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be the master architect of our physical production environment—optimizing space, material flow, and site infrastructure to scale production efficiently. You will combine industrial engineering expertise, data-driven spatial analysis, and cross-functional leadership to design manufacturing environments that are safe, lean, and built for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Factory & Site Master Planning: Lead the design and long-term master planning of manufacturing lines, support spaces, building placement, and campus-level infrastructure to support phased capacity expansion.
- Flow & Logistics Optimization: Design end-to-end material flow (inbound, WIP, outbound), optimize dock utilization, yard flow, and transportation interfaces to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Detailed Layout & Governance: Create and maintain block layouts and detailed 2D/3D layouts (AutoCAD/Revit) aligned with business requirements and Plan of Record (POR). Define layout governance, drafting standards, and visual factory guidelines.
- PFEP & Material Delivery: Integrate Plan for Every Part (PFEP) into layout decisions, including storage strategies, packaging, line-side delivery, and material handling systems (AGVs, AMRs, conveyors).
- Data-Driven Efficiency: Perform spatial and operational data analysis to maximize space density, minimize flow distances, improve labor productivity, and drive factory densification.
- Capacity & Simulation Support: Collaborate on capacity planning using OEE, takt time, line balancing, and simulation tools (e.g., FlexSim) to model throughput.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Facilities, Construction, and EHS teams to ensure seamless layout execution, safety compliance, and installation/commissioning support.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 7+ years of hands‐on experience in factory layout planning, industrial engineering, or facility design within large-scale manufacturing environments (e.g., automotive, battery gigafactories, energy, or heavy industry).
- Technical Mastery: Proficiency in CAD design tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with factory simulation software (e.g., FlexSim).
- Core Knowledge: Strong command of PFEP, material handling systems, capacity modeling, OEE, and line-balancing methodologies.
- Execution & Compliance: Proven track record in greenfield development or major facility ramp-ups, with a strong understanding of EHS, zoning, and building compliance.
- Exceptional spatial awareness and systems‑thinking mindset.
- Strong data‑driven analytical skills with a knack for translating complex operational metrics into executive‑level insights.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross‑functional projects from concept to shop‑floor execution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
