Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to lead the architecture and evolution of high-performance trading network environments in New York. The role focuses on designing next-gen network architectures, driving infrastructure innovation, and engineering low-latency systems to meet high-frequency trading demands.

You will own network design across colocation facilities, evaluate new technologies in the lab, and collaborate with senior specialists to push the boundaries

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on knowledge of low-latency networking
• Experience with timing and synchronisation technologies (White Rabbit, PTP)
• Ability to design and evaluate architectures and lab-test new tech
• Practical Python skills to read/adapt scripts and build tests/tools (not software dev)

Responsibilities

• Own network architecture and design across colocation facilities and market connectivity with latency optimisation
• Evaluate emerging networking products in the lab and decide deployment strategy
• Collaborate with senior systems, network and hardware specialists on new technologies
• Act as escalation point for complex production and network problems
• Focus on infrastructure bottlenecks and performance improvements rather than routine ops
