Job summary

itD is seeking a Compliance Specialist V to support Global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs by ensuring laser, optical, and radiation safety compliance across research laboratories and product development environments.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a Laser Safety Officer (LSO), strong knowledge of laser safety standards, and hands-on experience with hazard assessments, exposure calculations, safety inspections, and radiation safety testing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as Laser Safety Officer (LSO).
• Proficiency in ANSI Z136.1 – The American National Standard for the Safe Use of Lasers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct lab inspections and audits for laser and radiation safety, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform laser exposure calculations (MPE, NOHD, NHZ) and measurements of laser/LED sources.
• Review SOPs and oversee external laser service work.
• Implement radiation safety protocols and conduct X-ray leakage surveys.
• Collaborate with R&D, product, engineering, and EHS teams to support safety programs.
