Qualifications
- MS or PhD in a related technical field with photonics focus.
- 5+ years in laser processing, optics, photonics, or related development.
- Knowledge of laser theory and optical propagation.
- Hands-on lab experience building or testing setups.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data‑driven decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize laser-based processes across Corning facilities.
- Build, refine, and troubleshoot prototype stations; design optical systems.
- Plan and execute structured experiments; DOE, SPC and data analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate lab work into scalable processes.
- Document work and contribute to IP through reports and guidelines.
