Job summary

Temporal Technologies is hiring a Senior Language Runtime Engineer to build Nexus interfaces for the Temporal SDKs and to enable polyglot developers to orchestrate durable workflows with ease. The role emphasizes open-source collaboration, language runtime integration, and advanced execution patterns across Go, Java, Python, TypeScript and .NET.

You will work largely in open source, collaborate with SDK engineers, document APIs, and occasionally travel for team meetings.

Qualifications

7+ years in production systems as an arranger/builder of scalable distributed systems.
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, multi-threading and concurrency.
Experience writing concurrent code in production with Go, Java, Python, TypeScript, .NET or similar.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end features with the Nexus and OSS teams to ensure reliability and developer experience.
Design and build Nexus interfaces for Temporal SDKs in multiple languages.
Tight integration of Temporal SDKs with language runtimes for durable, deterministic execution.
Develop features enabling advanced durable execution patterns and async processing.
Collaborate with the community to debug complex issues and gather feedback on SDK features.
Create publicly readable technical documentation describing Temporal concepts and APIs.
Travel to meet coworkers for a week, once or twice a year.
