Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a senior landscape architect to lead and mentor a team through all project phases from concept to construction in the Southeast. You will manage diverse projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and help grow the firm’s design excellence and client relationships.

The role emphasizes sustainable design, effective budgeting, and proactive leadership to deliver on-time, on-budget projects while advancing team capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
• Professional Landscape Architect license (PLA/RLA) required.
• 8–10+ years of experience in landscape architecture design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of landscape architects through all phases of project delivery.
• Manage projects from concept through construction, ensuring on-time and on-budget performance.
• Develop innovative, sustainable design solutions for parks, commercial developments, and master planned communities.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement design concepts.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, including networking, proposal development, interviews, and fee negotiations.
• Prepare and deliver project proposals, presentations, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Continuously improve design processes, project delivery methods, and team performance.
• Support the growth and development of team members through coaching and mentorship.
