Job summary

The City of Coconut Creek in Florida is seeking a Senior Landscape Inspector to support the Sustainable Development Department. You will perform landscape and zoning inspections, review site plans, and manage permitting for code compliance on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED as minimum; up to three years in landscape/arboriculture.
• ISA certification preferred; additional landscaping/arboriculture certifications are a plus.
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily zoning and landscaping inspections.
• Coordinates and administers the landscape inspection program for existing commercial properties.
• Creates reports and presentations.
• Develops, prepares, and presents code cases at Special Magistrate hearings.
• Investigates violations of ordinances and follows up on complaints.
• Conducts inspections to enforce permits, ordinances, and codes.
• Addresses field problems with the public and developers.
• Meets with HOA representatives and residents on tree removal and code violations.
• Performs plan reviews for landscape code compliance.
• Ensures conformity among field team members with City rules and ordinances.
