The City of Coconut Creek in Florida is seeking a Senior Landscape Inspector to support the Sustainable Development Department. You will perform landscape and zoning inspections, review site plans, and manage permitting for code compliance on site.
Responsibilities include creating reports, presenting code cases at hearings, investigating violations, and coordinating with HOA residents on tree removal and landscape issues. A strong reader of plans and good customer service are essential.
Position Summary: Performs senior-level technical or specialized work in the Sustainable Development Department. Performs landscape and zoning inspections, plan review, and permitting for compliance with Land Development Code and approved site plans. Monitors and enforces the City's Land Development Code. Work is performed under limited supervision with moderate latitude. Position relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures.
Salary: $27.84/hour ($57,907.20 Annually)
Hours of work: Monday through Thursday 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.; Days and hours are subject to change.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by up to three years’ experience in landscape and arboriculture. ISA certification preferred. Additional certifications in landscaping, arboriculture, and horticulture preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Working knowledge of Florida Grades and Standards, City codes and ordinances; Microsoft Office; ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; strong customer service; ability to multi-task and work with tight deadlines; ability to learn new software; strong communication in English; ability to establish cooperative working relationships.
Physical Requirements: Light physical effort; may involve lifting up to 20 pounds and occasional climbing or bending. Environmental, sensory requirements and eligibility criteria are described as part of the position.
