Job summary

The City of Sunrise seeks a Code Enforcement professional to investigate and enforce landscape-related ordinances. Responsibilities include handling complaints, conducting field inspections, issuing notices, and pursuing citations as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and experience in enforcing zoning codes, with preferred associates in related fields and valid driver’s license. On-site work with occasional after-hours inspections is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, vocational school, or GED.
• Associate’s degree in landscaping design, forestry, botany, nursery sciences, or a closely related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive complaints and verify violations of landscape regulations.
• Research property ownership and review site plans to resolve code issues.
• Create and update case files and enter data into the system.
• Perform evening and weekend inspections to secure compliance; testify in court as needed.
• Collaborate with City departments on landscaping regulations and prepare investigative field reports.
