Overview
The Urban Design Division is responsible for crafting and executing a beautiful, human-scale, and inclusive vision for the design of the built environment across Boston. We champion the transformative power of beautiful, sustainable, walkable communities for everyone that support social, mental, and physical health while improving resiliency and promoting equity.
Summary of Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Deputy Director for Design Review and the Assistant Deputy Director (ADD) of Public Realm Design, the Sr. Landscape Architect I will conduct design reviews and solve complex landscape architectural and urban design problems, focusing on the public realm and climate change issues. They will be a key member of project review teams, facilitating communication and providing clear feedback aligned with city goals and policies. The role involves contributing to planning, design, resilience, affordability, and equity initiatives, and advancing city programs on climate adaptation and urban forestry.
The Sr. Landscape Architect I will collaborate with urban design staff and other city departments, communicate design issues, and contribute to projects involving analysis, conceptualization, and urban design scenarios. They will also mentor other staff and ensure projects align with the city’s design vision and planning goals.

Boston residency required. Non-union, salary range $100,000-$139,000. 35 hours/week. Mid-Senior level, full-time.
