Job summary

Diamondback Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior Landman to oversee an assigned geographic area within its holdings and to lead land activities across the asset.

You will partner with engineering, drilling, and finance teams to align land priorities with development plans. You will evaluate complex agreements, manage negotiations, review obligations, and mentor land staff while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Ba./BS degree and relevant land-management education.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive land experience, with at least 3 in-house.
• Experience with in-house land management, including rig schedules.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• High-level understanding of land, exploration and production issues.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex land matters within an assigned asset area, aligning with business priorities.
• Evaluate and provide recommendations on complex land agreements, leases, contracts, and related matters.
• Lead and support complex land negotiations with strategic recommendations.
• Review legal, contractual, and financial obligations to ensure land requirements are addressed.
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams to support drilling schedules and resolve land-related issues.
• Oversee brokers, attorneys, and third-party resources on title, curative, and related matters.
• Support acquisitions and divestitures through land due diligence and risk assessment.
• Mentor land staff and promote consistency across the Landmen team.
