Job summary

CBS² is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to lead survey and right-of-way efforts for municipal, county, and transportation projects. This full-time role is based out of any of our five locations and reports to the Survey & Plat Technical Leader.

The ideal candidate holds a Wisconsin PLS license, has 4+ years of surveying experience, and is proficient with GPS, total stations, and CAD tools (Civil 3D and MicroStation).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 4+ years of land surveying experience including right-of-way and boundary surveys.
• Wisconsin Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
• Proficiency with GPS and total stations.
• Strong experience with right-of-way plats, legal descriptions, and survey maps.
• CAD proficiency (Civil 3D and MicroStation) and MS Office.
• Ability to interpret specs, plans, and regulations.
• Organizational skills to manage budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork; willingness to travel.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead field survey operations using GPS, total stations, and other tools.
• Lead preparation of right-of-way plats and maps for public projects.
• Prepare legal descriptions, plats, and reset section corners as needed.
• Conduct field surveys to verify site conditions and features.
• Use CAD software (Civil 3D or MicroStation) to review survey plats and docs.
• Ensure survey work complies with state statutes and procedures.
• Assist in developing cost estimates and scopes for field work.
• Collaborate with engineering staff to support design and delivery.
• Coordinate with project managers to meet schedules and budgets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
