Job summary

Water & Environmental Technologies (WET) is seeking a highly skilled Professional Land Surveyor in Montana to lead and oversee land surveying projects across diverse areas. The ideal candidate will supervise field crews, ensure data accuracy, and prepare detailed survey reports and maps that support engineering, construction, and land development activities.

The role requires a Montana PLS license, 7–10 years of progressive experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, and Leica

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) required in Montana.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in land surveying.
• Strong proficiency in modern surveying tools and software.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of land surveying projects.
• Conduct and supervise boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
• Lead field survey teams, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
• Analyze and interpret survey data, legal records, and technical documents.
• Prepare and review survey drawings, plats, and legal descriptions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Utilize surveying instruments (e.g., total stations, GPS, drones, levels) and software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, Leica Infinity).
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, and construction teams.
• Maintain accurate survey records and documentation.
• Perform quality control checks and resolve discrepancies or legal boundary issues.
• Support proposal preparation and project estimation when required.
