Job summary

Wildlands Trust in Plymouth, MA seeks a full-time Land Protection Manager to expand the organization’s capacity to protect land across 60 communities in Southeast Massachusetts. Qualifications

  • Five or more years’ experience in land conservation or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s Degree minimum.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people and organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and databases.
  • Integrity and passion for land conservation.
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Willing to work in varied terrains and weather.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and cultivate relationships with landowners and partners.
  • Oversee project due diligence with surveyors, appraisers, attorneys.
  • Negotiate land conservation transactions including gifts and restrictions.
  • Work with staff, board and partners to complete projects.
  • Provide education to landowners regarding conservation options.
  • Manage logistics of multi-party real estate transactions and budgets.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation.
  • Participate in fundraising to complete conservation projects.
  • Ensure documentation including reports, databases, and GIS maps.
  • Stay current with best practices for conservation acquisitions.
  • Maintain knowledge of local, state, and national conservation trends.
  • Attend outreach and fundraising functions as necessary.
