Job summary

Catholic Health's Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, NY is looking for a Lactation Consultant (RN, NP, or PA) to support breastfeeding families in the postpartum setting. You will work with the care team to promote safe infant feeding and protect the mother’s milk supply.

Required are NY RN/NP/PA licensure, BSN (ASN acceptable if pursuing BSN), IBCLC, BLS, and NRP. 5+ years clinical experience and 2+ years management preferred. On-site role with competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN/NP/PA with NY registrations required.
• BSN degree required; ASN considered if pursuing a BSN.
• IBCLC certification with BLS and NRP required.
• Minimum 5+ years of clinical experience.
• 2+ years of management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to breastfeeding patients and families.
• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate lactation support postpartum.
• Educate staff and participate in group post-discharge lactation support.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to plan infant feeding.
