Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience operating, calibrating, maintaining and troubleshooting lab equipment and performing experimental procedures using hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute desired laboratory and bench-scale experiments.
• Design and construct experimental units, equipment, and apparatus.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments and equipment. Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment.
• Gather data and evaluate processes and products.
• Develop safe handling procedures for chemicals and chemical reactions.
• Conduct basic mechanical work (e.g. basic tubing, fitting and valve assembly using basic tools).
• Conduct sample analysis using laboratory instruments.
• Prepare and submit samples for analyses. Interpret results.
• Maintain research records.
• Purchase, inventory, store, transfer, recycle and dispose of chemicals up to drum quantities.
• Perform safety inspections, resolve any safety issues, and maintain safety documentation.
• Train and mentor new technicians.
• Supports and provides guidance on field trails
