Job summary

HED is seeking a Senior Laboratory Planner to lead planning for medium to large laboratory projects within an integrated team of architects and engineers. You will advise across offices, develop program documents, and advance standards for STEM teaching labs, life sciences, and cleanrooms.

Ideal candidates bring a decade of planning experience, strong communication, and proficiency in Revit and related design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field.
• Professional license or license track preferred.
• Minimum ten years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Meet with user groups to determine lab space requirements.
• Prepare written program documents for sign-off.
• Develop alternative design proposals based on user requirements.
• Coordinate project team members to design and document lab facilities.
• Conduct code research for laboratory portions with project team.
• Collaborate with other disciplines or outside consultants.
• Attend project meetings as necessary.
• Document interpretation & submittal reviews during bidding & construction.
• Coordinate efforts across HED's offices for lab facilities.
• Develop presentation graphics for project pursuits.
• Participate in national conferences to advance lab planning thought leadership.
• Assemble and document science equipment requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
