Job summary

Providence Swedish Edmonds is seeking a laboratory support associate who represents the laboratory to the public, physicians, patients and offices while assisting laboratory technical staff and processing specimens according to established procedures. The role ensures compliance with accreditation and licensing standards.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of a phlebotomy program through a post-secondary school, college, military program, employer, or equivalent training.
• Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification required on hire, or Washington Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Represent the laboratory to the public, physicians, patients and offices.
• Assist laboratory technical staff, receive/accession and/or process specimens according to procedures.
• Follow departmental policies to ensure safety, environmental and infectious control standards and compliance with accreditation and licensing agencies.
