Job summary

Aleshire & Wynder seeks an experienced Senior Associate Attorney for our Labor & Employment Practice Group in California to represent public agencies in labor relations and employment matters, including collective bargaining, discipline, and PERB proceedings.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of labor and employment law, strong leadership to supervise junior associates, and the ability to manage complex client relationships with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of labor and employment law experience
• Ability to supervise junior associates
• Manage client relationships and complex legal matters with minimal supervision
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
• Commitment to client service and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Advise California public agency employers on labor and employment matters
• Assist clients with labor negotiations and collective bargaining
• Provide counsel on employee discipline and performance issues
• Handle union grievances, employee grievances, and other labor relations matters
• Represent public agency clients in grievance arbitrations, disciplinary proceedings, PERB proceedings, and administrative hearings
• Develop legal strategies based on law, client objectives, and risk considerations
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior associates and legal staff
• Contribute to practice group development and business development initiatives
