Job summary

Confidential Employer’s labor and employment practice seeks an experienced attorney to manage litigation from discovery through trial in state and federal courts, advising employers on discrimination, harassment, wage-hour, hiring, and employee relations.

You will draft motions, handle agency filings with EEOC/NY agencies, and collaborate with HR and clients to develop compliant policies while expanding your practice and professional growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active New York Bar admission.
• 6+ years of labor and employment law experience.
• Strong employment litigation experience in state and federal courts.
• Experience before employment agencies such as EEOC, NYS DHR, or NYCCHR.

Responsibilities

• Manage employment litigation from discovery through trial in state and federal courts.
• Draft discovery motions, motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, pleadings, and other substantive filings.
• Represent employers before the EEOC, NYS DHR, NYCCHR, and other administrative agencies.
• Handle employment arbitrations and administrative proceedings.
• Advise clients on hiring, employee relations, discipline, terminations, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour matters.
• Manage agency compliance matters including audits and inspections.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical employment law guidance to clients.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, policies, and workplace documents.
• Work closely with HR professionals, executives, management teams, and other client stakeholders.
• Monitor developments in federal, state, and local employment law and advise clients on emerging risks.
