Job summary

W. R. Grace & Co. in Columbia, MD seeks a Sr Technician Specialist to support Materials Technologies R&D projects.

You will perform laboratory work on Grace Silica products used in coatings, electronics, renewable fuels, edible oils, and catalysis, reporting to the Sr. Lab Supervisor and working on-site. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day lab operations, assisting engineers with tasks, performing analyses, collecting data, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related technical field.
• Associates Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related technical field and 2+ years related technical experience will also be considered.
• Knowledge of basic chemical and engineering principles.
• Familiarity with computer programs such as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day tasks and operations across multiple laboratories.
• Assist engineers and scientists with a variety of laboratory tasks.
• Perform chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific tests using routine and special techniques in compliance with safety standards.
• Collect, analyze, and process laboratory samples.
• Record results of tests, organize data, and prepare reports using standard procedures.
