Job summary

Infineon Technologies in Warwick, RI, invites applications for a Staff Lab Technician/Lab Manager in our Research & Development team. You will support PCB assembly, diagnose board-level issues, and help bring up and test prototypes while ensuring safe, organized lab operations.

You will manage lab inventory, calibrate instruments, and coordinate procurement, partnering with engineers to document results and push innovative projects forward in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or related discipline.
• Hands-on SMT soldering and board-level assembly experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electronic hardware.
• Experience with electronic test equipment (DMMs, scopes, generators, analyzers, power supplies).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support PCB assembly, modification, rework, and precision soldering/desoldering of ICs, SMT components, prototypes, and production boards.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose board-level issues, including power-up failures and soldering defects.
• Assist engineers with board bring-up, testing, debugging, validation, measurements, and data documentation.
• Manage day-to-day lab operations to ensure equipment, tools, and supplies are ready for use.
• Maintain lab inventory and coordinate procurement; ensure calibration and documentation of instruments.
