Job summary

Russell Tobin is supporting a leading biotechnology organization with an onsite contract opening for a Senior Lab Technician in Branchburg, NJ. The role requires oligonucleotide purification and hands-on lab operations.

Responsibilities include performing purification, supporting production, maintaining records in SAP/LIMS, and adhering to SOPs and cGMP. Pay range is $24–$27.50 per hour, with a Mon–Fri onsite schedule and potential extension.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in oligonucleotide purification or biotech.
• Familiarity with HPLC, UV-VIS, purification techniques and testing.
• Knowledge of SOPs, cGMP, safety and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support production and laboratory testing activities ensuring quality and compliance.
• Follow SOPs, cGMP, OSHA safety regulations and instructions.

• Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, and documentation.
• Assist with experimental design, protocol development, investigations, and reports.
• Support new purification platform development and scale-up activities.
• Participate in training and contribute to development of procedures, products, equipment.

• Perform and document oligonucleotide purification, downstream processing, characterization, and final formulation using laboratory instruments such as HPLC and UV-VIS.
• Support production and laboratory testing activities, ensuring quality and compliance with established procedures.
• Follow SOPs, cGMP requirements, OSHA safety regulations, and departmental work instructions.
• Maintain accurate laboratory and production records, enter data into SAP/LIMS, and monitor laboratory supply inventory.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, and documentation with internal teams.
• Assist with experimental design, protocol development, investigations, technical reports, and troubleshooting.
• Support new purification platform development, scale-up activities, and continuous improvement of laboratory procedures.
• Participate in required training and contribute to the development and evaluation of new procedures, products, and equipment.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a science-related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in oligonucleotide purification, biotechnology, or laboratory manufacturing.
• Familiarity with HPLC, UV-VIS, purification techniques, and laboratory testing preferred.
• Knowledge of SOPs, cGMP, laboratory safety, and accurate documentation practices.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
