Job summary

ARSIEM is seeking a Lab Manager to support a government client in Arlington, VA. You will manage lab infrastructure, implement new technologies, and ensure secure, efficient operation across locations. The role requires strong system administration, networking, and VPN/VDI expertise with macOS support and security-focused SOP development.

The position emphasizes collaboration, lab policy development, and storage/network problem solving to maintain mission readiness and secure solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/CE/CIS or related field or HS Diploma with 7+ years of lab management experience.
• 5+ years of directly relevant system administration experience.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and macOS.
• Networking knowledge and VPN experience.
• Experience with virtual desktops (Citrix, VMware).
• Ability to work across physical locations.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced analytical skills and implement infrastructure solutions for mission requirements.
• Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the lab.
• Assess network topology and devices, identify security concerns and provide best practice recommendations.
• Advise on lab SOPs and policies.
• Provide VPN/VDI support to users.
• Provide macOS and iOS support to users.
• Troubleshoot and triage technical issues and helpdesk requests.
• Monitor users via helpdesk channels and manage user accounts.
• Implement granular access control, backups, and monitor systems security.
• Troubleshoot storage issues and coordinate storage/network solutions.
